JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Chemist II supports the Application Technologies Center in the development and application for the projects with the customers and activities related.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages multiple projects and tasks with changing priorities. Recognizes problems, gathers and interprets significant data to find creative solutions to complex issues. Recommends new solutions for customer requests where appropriate through familiarity with Sensient product catalog and databases.

Identifies and focuses resources on new technologies, ingredients, processes and food/color trends that will provide innovative solutions to customer and industry challenges.

Supports long-range business strategies on research and technology to meet divisional growth expectations.

Enters and maintains accurate and thorough records of work, including project status, formulations, process instructions, product evaluations, application libraries and supporting documents such as customer technical data sheets, nutrition facts, shipment documentation and other as required.

Conducts testing of Color application products as appropriate including basic analytical, process, stability and shelf life testing. Proficient in operating multiple pieces of equipment on lab and in pilot plant.

Communicates effectively to keep account manager, customer and Technical Services Manager apprised of project status. Ensures that projects are completed and submissions made in a timely manner and manages expectations with account manager and customer.

Expands technical and professional knowledge through collaboration with internal teams, mentors, customer interaction and professional development seminars, trade shows or technical workshops as agreed on by Technical Services Manager.

Assists in maintaining a safe and professional environment; complies with government and company safety directives.

Technical visit and presentation to customers.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Food Lab application experience preferred, with a background in product development.
- Good basic scientific background
- General knowledge in analytical chemistry equipment and techniques.
- A familiarity with data management software is preferred.
- Good communication skills both oral and written as well as good interpersonal skills.
- CRQ (Conselho Regional de Química) registry is required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Engineer or related technical area.
- Fluent in English.
