ABOUT

This position is responsible for executing innovation, productivity and portfolio transformation projects for Dairy category, milk modifiers and new formats, with counterparts & multi-functional teams, aiming to develop & implement key projects for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) & Strategic Business Plan (SBP).

  • Lead innovation, productivity and renovation projects for Dairy milk modifier category in Brazil, mainly Toddy brand.
  • Be the point person for Operations in Brazil to support the BU with existent business in any technical related matter regarding to Dairy powders category.
  • Be partner with Stage Gate, MKT and Operational teams, guaranteeing flawless and consistent execution of the activities related to Research and Development of the dairy projects in Brazil
  • Work in partnership with local and regional regulatory teams for internal and external markets (exportation)
  • Work together with co-manufacturing team in the definition of processes for new business model ensuring and validating the specification and product design
  • Lead with other R&D disciplines (such as Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Sensory, Analythical and Nutrition Science, Operation Excellence) to deliver technical information (specifications, procedures, label approval, shelf life reports, etc) for production success in house or existing or new license agreements and co-manufacturing partnerships (team cell concept)
  • Keep close contact with SMEs (subject matter experts) around the PEP world to ensure best practices and documents implementation
  • Co-lead with Operation Excellence new material/ supplier qualification process following PepsiCo protocols for dairy platform, supporting operations when process trials are required.
  • Keep updated on new ingredients technologies to apply on innovation, productivity or portfolio transformation projects
  • Responsible for individual report professional development
  • Plan and control R&D innovation, renovation and productivity budget for projects under responsability
  • Co-lead dairy analyst (process expert), working as a team, to deliver category projects (innovation, productivity and/or renovation)
  • Train interns for the MM platform on PepsiCo technologies, prototyping and new material development while aiming laboratory best practices and organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or any related area;
  • Consolidated experience in R&D or food industry;
  • Desirable functional experience desired in milk modifier or powders technology or RTD dairy technology
  • Fluent English; Intermediary Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Quality management systems and local and international laws (Codex, FDA Regulations and Mercosur regulations)
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work with virtual teams
  • Ability of collaborating and influencing
  • Cultural sensitivity, flexibility in working with different cultures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across all levels and functions
  • Good understanding of the category business and application of technical and commercial knowledge during project execution
  • Result oriented and able to balance competing priorities without losing momentum and manage uncertainties
  • Self-started, proactive, stress management and strategic thinking
