Position Purpose  
  • The purpose of this role is to identify and validate fruit ingredients/elements technologies, applied at beverages. The individual of this position leads and executes, with minimum guidance, the discovery phase of product development, ensuring that key ingredient programs move forward to support the Global Beverages strategy.
  • More specifically, this specialist will be in charge of conducting prior art search and new fruit elements technical assessment, including the identification, general materials testing, application and validation with support from areas such as: Research and Nutrition, Global Analytical, Consumers Science, Statistics, Regulatory, Global Procurement and external collaborators. The individual delivers applicable results, interpretation and technical reports. Fundamental understanding is applied to results analysis to drive Business relevant recommendations aligned with Category Strategy.
  • This position is located in Curitiba – Brazil.
Main Responsibilities
 
Technical
  • Drive Innovation through technical optimization and creative insight generation on fruit ingredients/elements for Powdered Beverages compositions.
  • Understand fruit ingredients properties, functionalities and applications based on Powdered Beverages applications.
  • Build, execute and recommend plan related to the Fruit Technology platform under the individual responsibility.
  • Contribute to Global projects and teams on strategic proactive initiatives.
  • Interpret data, findings or results and define subsequent steps while demonstrating sound scientific know-how and capability to link findings to Business, customers and consumers objectives.
  • Lead formulation hypotheses and design solid experimental plans to prove these, conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyses data.
  • Responsible for technical recommendations and their knowledge sharing to be implemented by Regions.
  • Guarantee inclusion of new fruit elements technical solutions into Global Ingredient Menu Card.
  • Generate technical documentation for internal Mondelēz International delivery knowledge base.
  • Contribute on Intellectual Property strategy.
  • Provide technical support to issue resolution.
Operational
  • Leads and aligns with cross-functional partners. Manages relationships with suppliers and Business partners such as: Consumer Science, Quality, Analytical, Global Category and Regions, Procurement, Global Marketing and other functions.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate progress and results of technical efforts to relevant stakeholders in order to influence decisions related to Innovation / Renovation programs.
  • Build and manage internal relationships with peers and other members within RDQ community.
  • Create an external network with relevant suppliers. Be informed of the external developments by conferences and reading relevant literatures.
Safety and Quality
  • Work with the highest standards of safety and quality following local and global requirements and procedures.
  • Ensure training records and other required documents are accurate.
Compliance
  • Know the Legal and Compliance responsibilities of the position.
  • Apply integrity in all aspects of professional conduct

The Success Candidate Will be:
 
Academic Knowledge
  • Graduation required
  • Master´s Degree – Preferred
  • Doctorate Degree – Preferred
  • Graduation in Food / Chemical Engineering or Technology or Related areas as required.
  • English Language skills required (verbal and written). Other languages as a plus.
Working Knowledge  
  • Knowledge in food area focusing on fruit ingredients / elements technologies and other range of ingredients for Beverages application such as: Sweeteners, Hydrocolloids, Flavors, Modulators, Colors and Acids.
  • Knowledge in juice / beverage product development and commercialization a plus.
  • Knowledge to working in multicultural environments preferred.
